(1983- )
Director, actor, producer, writer, editor. Nelson Marquise Walker was born in Houma, Louisiana on November 25, 1983. His first name is after his fathers but he isn’t a junior because of his middle name. He was raised a couple of years in Mississippi. Then he moved to Hazel Crest a south suburb of Chicago because his father was station there as an ironworker.
Nelson loved watching music videos as a child and he became fascinated on the production end of it. He began recording himself around the house lip singing to his favorite artist and having his friends dance in front of the camera. Nelson then discovered his love for entertainment mainly focusing on acting and directing. He continued making homemade videos until he graduated high school.
Nelson passion for acting drew him to attend Columbia College in Chicago, IL. His major was Theater and he was the leading actor in 2 PBS sitcoms his freshman year there. He has impersonated celebrities from Snoop Dogg to Michael Jackson on the show as well. Although he loves to act he chose to change his major to learn what goes on behind the camera. Nelson’s sophomore year he transferred schools and changed his major too. He attended Southern Illinois University where he received to Bachelor Degrees. His majors were Cinema/Photography and Radio/Television with a minor in Black American Studies .
He became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity Inc. while attending school there. He created commercials for all of their events and coordinated one called The Players Ball a festivity that attracted over 4,500 guest. The fraternity taught him leadership and he began to apply it to his everyday life. Nelson joined the NAACP where he was the community service chairman. By his senior year at SIU he had his own television show Nelson in the Mix written, directed and edited by himself airing on spc tv and streamed on youtube. He was also the weatherman and field reporter for River Region nightly news. The summer before his senior year in college he interned at GoTv network Hip Hop Official in Hollywood, Ca. by the end of the internship he produced, written, directed, edited and starred in GoTv’s 2007 BET ladies on the red carpet special and their commercial. By the time of Nelson’s graduation he had aired 10 episodes of his t.v show, written and directed 5 short films. He accomplished every goal he had in college and prepared a whole new set of goals for when he graduated.
Nelson flew first class to Hollywood, Ca. once he completed college to start his journey focusing on his new goals. He began attending Universal Studios New York Film Academy in the fall of 2008 to earn his MFA in Filmmaking. He gained experience there as a director, director of photography, assistant director, assistant camera, gaffer, grip and sound mixer. He has written, directed, edited and starred in 2 films that were screened at Universal Studios and Warner Brothers. Both films had a positive response from the audience concluding a successful outcome.
While attending Universal Studios NYFA Nelson has been the personal assistant to the legendary comedian/actor Michael Colyar. The first film Nelson Walker written and directed in Hollywood was A Love Affair starring Michael Colyar. He began his business venture with Michael assisting him with his weekly comedy show at the Towne House club in Los Angeles. As time progressed assisting Mr. Colyar, Nelson began to be an essential part to several of his projects. Nelson has produced Comics go to Jail where he would gather 4 comedians monthly including Michael and project a 2 hour long show for over 300 inmates at Terminal Island Prison. He’s also the audio editor to Michael Colyar’s Greatest Hits Comedy Album and the video editor to Michael Colyar’s Extravagant Adventure 2 Disc series DVD. Nelson was also the graphic designer of www.michaelcolyar.com homepage.
He has never limited himself and strides for excellence with everything he does. Nelson still pursues his passion for acting. He appeared on Tru Tv Operation Repo as a Michael Jackson wannabe getting his old skool Delorean reposed. He is now known world wide for kicking the repo man in the butt right after doing one of his famous MJ moves. His youtube clip of just that has accumulated hundreds of thousands of views within a couple months of its airing. He has a massive amount of news articles around the web discussing the episode he was in. Ironically Michael Jackson died a week before it aired.
Nelson is a humble, articulate, creative young man striding for a great future while leaving history in his path. He is currently working on the script to the feature film Thoughts Become Reality. A film based on the laws of attraction with a comedic twist. Nelson has many ideas like new inventions digitally designed that are feasible to produce with a massive market. He is also building his own online social network creating a platform/ layout that has never been designed in internet history. All of his ideas are followed by action passionately and he’s definitely someone you would want to build a business relationship with.
